Fuel Filter O-Ring

Your fuel filter removes contaminants and debris from the fuel system. A serviceable fuel filter is located in a housing that can be unscrewed to replace the fuel filter. This type of filter may include a fuel filter O-ring to seal the fuel filter to the cap of the housing. The fuel filter O-ring prevents unfiltered fuel from entering the rest of the fuel system. The fuel filter O-ring may also be located on the outside of the fuel filter housing cap to keep out contaminants. If the fuel filter O-ring wears out or cracks, this may allow debris to bypass the fuel filter.
