Oil Filter Housing

An oil filter housing allows your oil filter to be mounted off the engine. This allows access to the canister-style oil filter. An oil filter housing includes a threaded cap the can be removed to access or replace the oil filter. The oil filter housing cap also includes an O-ring that should be replaced when the oil filter is serviced. If your oil filter housing or cap has been damaged, they may leak or allow debris into your oil. This can cause damage to engine parts or may clog your oil filter.
