Center Support Bearing

A center support bearing allows the driveshaft to be split into two sections in trucks and SUVs. This is done to extend the length of the driveshaft in these longer vehicles. It supports the two halves of the driveshaft between the transmission and rear differential. Due to constant use, a center support bearing can develop wear and break down. Your center support bearing may be failing if you experience vibrations when accelerating from a complete stop or squealing or grinding noises when slowing down.
