Battery Tray

A battery tray holds your vehicle's battery in place. It works with the battery hold-down to minimize vehicle vibration, which could damage the battery while you drive. An unsecured battery can move while turning or going over bumps, and its case may be damaged, causing battery acid to leak. A battery tray also protects other engine components from any battery acid or corrosion leaking from your battery. Without a battery tray in place, corrosion from your battery can take a toll on your engine compartment, and cause paint damage and rust on its metal surfaces. If you see rust and signs of corrosion near your battery tray, check both the battery and the tray for damage, and replace the tray if necessary to avoid further damage.
