Harmonic Balancer Repair Sleeve

The harmonic balancer is attached to the crankshaft and smooths vibrations from the engine. The crankshaft pulley usually bolts on to the front of the harmonic balancer. The harmonic balancer shaft passes through the timing cover, which includes a rubber seal to seal the shaft against oil leaks. Over time, this seal can wear a ridge in the balancer shaft. If the harmonic balancer is in otherwise good condition, a harmonic balancer repair sleeve can be used. This sleeve press fits to the balancer shaft and provides a smooth surface for the timing cover seal. To service the balancer, you'll need a harmonic balancer puller and installer, both of which are available at O'Reilly Auto Parts.
