Shock Absorber Bellows

A shock boot, or shock bellow, is used to protect the hydraulic ram on your shock absorber from dust and debris that can damage it. These are also used on struts for the same reason. Factory strut assemblies typically include a strut bellow, but most factory shocks may not have included a shock boot. But if you've built a four-wheel drive vehicle for off-road use, a shock boot can help save your expensive suspension. A shock boot can add an additional layer of protection against dirt, mud, sand, or rocks being kicked up by the tires.
