Your air conditioning system usually includes a filter-drier that filters out contaminants and removes water from the refrigerant. Some A/C systems may also have a second in-line A/C filter to strain out larger debris. If this filter clogs, this can stop the flow of refrigerant in your A/C system. It may also cause excess pressure to build up in the system, which may cause the A/C compressor to shut off frequently. If you notice that you're not getting cold air from your vents and your A/C compressor cycles off quickly once activated, you may need to check your in-line A/C filter.
