Distributor Cap & Wire Kit

The distributor cap connects the spark plug wires and distributor rotor. The rotor contacts the appropriate point on the distributor cap to carry voltage from the coil to the spark plug wire and finally to the spark plug. These parts can wear out over time, and replacing your spark plugs, spark plug wires, distributor cap, and rotor are all parts of a good tune-up. If you notice you're not getting spark at certain cylinders, this may be caused by the ignition wire for that cylinder. You may also be able to trace it farther back to a distributor cap or rotor whose contacts are worn and not making connection.
