A fusible link is a common feature in high current electrical systems. It consists of a wire that is smaller in diameter than the wires it is meant to protect. If the current rises too high, the fusible link will melt, helping to avoid damage to the larger wires, which can handle larger currents. A fusible link is typically used in situations where fuses can't be utilized. Difficulty starting your vehicle can point to problems with your electrical system. When a fuse link has melted to protect a critical system from damage, it needs to be replaced before you can start your vehicle again. If you suspect a fusible link is the reason for your repair, check out O'Reilly Auto Parts. We carry fusible links to repair most vehicles.
